Purrinia
The Clowdria were a group of militaristic nations that flourished circa 26 BC. Among these countries were Purrinia, Maincoon, Devonrex, Manxus, Siamia, Persia, Ragdollia, Birmin, Birmese, and Sphinx. There was an ongoing state of conflict between these countries, caused by the centuries-long battle for dominance over the fishing sector and the seaports. The Republic of Purrinia was the strongest of the Clowdrian nations. A prosperous 35 million-feline nation located on the shores of the Ailurophile Sea. The nation's dominance over the area's seaports and trade routes made it powerful. Because of this dominance in the north, Purrinia became an affluent country, and its furry citizens lived comfortably. At the helm was Emporer Felinius, a cunning politician and military strategist of royal blood. His closest ally was General Kittius Maximus Meowus, a native of the northern district of Milkonus who rose through the ranks of the 2nd legion to become commander of the Purrinian Army. Together, they triumphed in multiple skirmishes and conflicts, including one over their most formidable adversary, the Manxus at the battle of Sylvester.
Kittius Maximus Meowus
General Meowus is said to have been born to farmers in the northern region of Milkonus. According to legend, his fascination with the Purrinian legions began at the tender age of 6. At 7, his parents placed him under the guidance of an officer of the Legio II Felinius in Southern Mikonus for early Military training. By his teenage years, his exceptional swordsmanship skills had earned him renown across Purrinia. Joining the 2nd Legion at 17, Kittius saw his first combat experience during the battle of Kattnipia in what was then Manxus territory. Tales spread among the Purrinian citizenry that Kittius' that despite his small stature, he was so powerful and fast, that sections of his own front line froze in awe as he cut through the Manxus forces, incapacitating hundreds of enemy soldiers on his own. He was said to move as lighting does. Thus, the belief that he wasn't mere feline, but a demigod begin to take root. Many believing him to be the son of the God Jerryonus. Ascending through the ranks, Kittius engaged in seven campaigns across Clowdria, all yielding similar outcomes instilling fear, respect, and admiration throughout the entire region.
Contrary to his battlefield persona, he was described as level-headed and approachable in his personal life. His altruistic deeds garnered as much acclaim as his military triumphs, such as the selfless act of offering his residence to a homeless family he encountered on the streets. Additionally, he regularly allocated his earnings to procure food for distribution in impoverished areas of southern Milkonus. He was known to be a member of the Nam Bonum Omnium, a collective of individuals united in the belief that the strength of the republic depended on uplifting the most vulnerable. The Nam Bonum Omnium directly opposed the criminal syndicate Collectae RugPullian, a Purrinian social group whose associates were involved in fraudulent schemes and larceny. His popularity among soldiers and the populace would eventually lead to his acension to commander of all legions before retiring from Military life to pursue the destruction of the Collectae RugPullian.
Impending War
In the southern lands lay the nation of Utility. A society of affluence and privilege, their primary exports were gold and silver sourced from extensive mines in the south. The Utilitae had engaged in a prolonged conflict with the Memes, gradually forcing them into the mountainous regions bordering the Abyssinian Sea through numerous brief battles over the past century. These battles resulted in the loss of one of thier more vital assetts, the Defi-dria canal. The loss of the DeFidria canal on the Agouti Sea to the Memes disrupted trade with the Northern nations, rendered shipping of precious commodities such as gold, silver, wheat, and other produce through the Agouti Sea to the Clowdria nations difficult and produced naval clashes with the Memes. Observing the Memes being push towards the Ailurophile Sea, Purrinia feared the Memes would eventually be forced into conquest within Purrinian territories, as they were more frequently repelling Meme incursions into Purrinian waters. Also at play was the belief that the attempted invasion of Sylvester by the Manxus 30 years before was encouraged and funded by the Utlititae.
Considering all this, Emperor Felinius sent a representative via the Agouti Sea to Utility with a proposal. The Purrinians, Maincoons, and Persians would launch a joint invasion of Meme Land to the south of the DeFidria Canal. The strategic importance of securing the canal lay in granting the Utilitae access to key trade routes along the Purrinian coast and extensive trade networks spanning the entire Clowdria region . In return, the allies would gain control over the northern region of DeFidria, known as Loanae, thereby obtaining valuable resources absent in Clowdria. But the Utilitae considered the Purrinians to be only marginally more civilized than the barbaric Memes, so the local populace harbored reservations. Suspecting the Purrinians of harboring ambitions beyond DeFidria. And despite the disruption in their commerce and potential civil unrest looming due to increased trade pressures with Meme control of the DeFidria canal, there was belief among them that control of the DeFidria canal would eventually be regained . The proposed alliance was turned down by the Utilitian Emperor Bitconus.
Felinius now concluded that an assualt on Defidria was the only option. But challenging a nation as powerful as the Utilitae would require the unification ofthe Clowdria and only one feline could hope to achieve such a feat. General KIttius Maximus Meowus.
